Teddi Mellencamp, the former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has been bravely battling cancer since her diagnosis in February. In a recent Instagram post, the 43-year-old reality star shared a powerful photo showing the back of her head, partially shaved and marked with visible brain surgery scars. Dressed in a black tank top, she also revealed scars along her back and shoulders.
Mellencamp’s cancer journey began in 2022 when she skipped her annual skin check-up due to anxiety and had a large mole removed from her back. Months later, she was diagnosed with stage II melanoma. After surgeries and treatments to remove the cancerous moles, she started experiencing severe headaches. In February, doctors discovered multiple tumors in her brain, a direct result of her melanoma metastasizing.
Despite undergoing surgeries to remove some tumors, more were discovered in her brain and lungs. Mellencamp remained optimistic during radiation and immunotherapy treatments, but a recent MRI revealed four additional tumors in her brain. She even spoke to her father about being buried in their family mausoleum in Indiana.
However, in a hopeful update, Mellencamp shared on Instagram that all of her tumors have either shrunk or disappeared. She expressed gratitude for the support from her family, friends, and followers, and remains positive about her healing journey. She is currently undergoing immunotherapy treatments and doctors believe she will be cancer-free soon.
In a recent red carpet appearance at the An Unforgettable Evening 2025 Gala in Los Angeles, Mellencamp looked radiant in a black blazer with silver accessories. Despite the challenges she has faced, Mellencamp continues to fight with determination and strength.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Mellencamp has received unwavering support from her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, who has put their divorce on hold and moved back in with her to support her through this difficult time. With her positive outlook and strong support system, Mellencamp remains determined to overcome cancer and live a healthy, happy life with her children.
As Mellencamp continues her cancer fight, she serves as an inspiration to many, showing resilience and bravery in the face of adversity. Her story is a reminder of the importance of early detection and the power of positivity in overcoming life’s challenges.
