Tragedy struck early Sunday morning near Aurora’s Hoffman Park as a teenage girl lost her life and two others were injured in a shooting at a fire station, according to police reports.
Police rushed to the scene just after 12:30 a.m. near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2 on 12600 East Hoffman Boulevard. Firefighters, returning from a previous call, discovered a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman who had been shot and provided immediate medical assistance, as stated in the police release.
The crime scene was found in the fire station’s parking lot, and both victims were transported to the hospital. Tragically, the teenager succumbed to her injuries, with her identity to be confirmed by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office. The woman is expected to recover from her injuries.
Subsequently, a third victim, an unidentified juvenile, was found later that morning with a bullet graze but is expected to survive, as per police reports.
Authorities are currently investigating the events leading up to the shooting, believing it to be an isolated incident. As of now, no suspects have been publicly identified or apprehended.
