A recent disturbing incident in the Bronx has left the community in shock. Casmine Aska, a parolee who had just been released after serving eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a young boy and throwing him off a rooftop, is now facing new charges of raping a 15-year-old girl in a stairwell.

The alleged attack took place in an elevator at 140 Bellamy Loop in Co-Op City, where Aska reportedly forced the teen into a stairwell and assaulted her. He was arrested on Friday night and charged with first-degree rape. This comes just a month after his release on parole for a previous heinous crime.

Aska’s criminal history is deeply troubling. In 2013, he was convicted of attempted murder for pushing a 9-year-old boy, whom he had sexually assaulted, off the roof of a five-story building in the Bronx. The child was left in a coma but miraculously survived. Aska was sentenced to eight years in state prison for this crime.

The details of the 2013 incident are chilling. The young victim was threatened by Aska after he threatened to report the abuse, leading to his horrific fall from the rooftop. The boy’s family was devastated by the incident, with the child’s grandfather expressing his hope for his recovery.

Aska’s release on parole has raised concerns about public safety, especially given his violent past. In addition to the attempted murder charge, he has also faced multiple other charges in the past, including resisting arrest, menacing, and assault. There are even indications that he may have used aliases in previous crimes.

The recent arrest of Aska for the rape of a young girl has once again brought attention to the need for stricter measures to prevent dangerous individuals from reoffending. The community is left grappling with the consequences of his actions, and the victims of his crimes continue to struggle with the trauma he has caused.

It is essential for law enforcement and the justice system to take swift and decisive action in cases like these to ensure the safety and well-being of the public. Aska’s disturbing pattern of behavior serves as a stark reminder of the importance of holding offenders accountable for their actions and protecting vulnerable members of society.
