The former stars of the popular supernatural teen drama “Teen Wolf” recently shared some valuable advice for young actors who find themselves thrust into the spotlight and facing intense public scrutiny as their careers take off. Speaking at the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, Holland Roden, Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin, and Charlie Carver reflected on their experiences and offered insights for navigating the challenges of fame in the entertainment industry.

Roden, who portrayed Lydia on the show, emphasized the importance of staying calm and enjoying the journey. She advised young actors to not put too much pressure on themselves and to trust that everything will work out in the end. Reflecting on her own experience, she wished she had taken more time to savor the moment and appreciate the opportunities that came her way.

Posey, who played Scott in “Teen Wolf,” echoed Roden’s sentiments and stressed the importance of being present amidst the stress and pressure of newfound fame. He encouraged young actors to stay true to themselves and to trust that things will ultimately turn out okay. Posey shared that his own journey through fame had shaped him into the person he is today, and he has no regrets about how he handled it.

Hoechlin, known for his role as Derek in the show and also starring in “Superman & Lois,” emphasized the importance of authenticity and self-reflection. He advised young actors to be comfortable setting boundaries and saying no, especially in today’s era of social media where there is constant pressure to share every aspect of one’s life. Hoechlin encouraged young actors to stay true to themselves and not lose sight of why they pursued acting in the first place.

Carver, who portrayed Ethan on “Teen Wolf,” highlighted the need to ground oneself in the love for the craft amidst the scrutiny and self-involvement that fame can bring. He emphasized the importance of remembering why one chose to pursue acting and finding authenticity in the work and relationships formed on set.

In addition to their individual advice, Hoechlin shared a valuable lesson from his baseball coach that has stuck with him throughout his career: “If it’s not constructive, then it should be in one ear and out the other.” He encouraged young actors to focus on constructive criticism and feedback, while tuning out negative comments that do not serve a purpose in their growth and development.

Overall, the former “Teen Wolf” stars offered valuable insights for young actors navigating the challenges of fame, encouraging them to stay true to themselves, set boundaries, and focus on the love for their craft. Their advice serves as a reminder to appreciate the journey and stay grounded amidst the pressures of the entertainment industry.
