Cappu Films, a sales company based in Hong Kong, has recently acquired the rights to the Thai Girls’ Love series “Love Design” and is currently presenting the title to potential buyers at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF). The series falls under the popular genre of GL and BL (Boys’ Love) that focuses on same-sex romantic relationships, with Thailand being a key player in producing such content.
In a strategic partnership, Cappu Films and VelCurve Studio, the production company behind the sci-fi film “Uranus 2324,” will collaborate on international sales for various regions including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, North America, Latin America, and Singapore. Directed by Fuse Kittisak Cheewasatjasakun, “Love Design” follows the story of two female architects, played by Kao Supassara Thanachart and Jane Methika Jiranorraphat, whose romantic relationship turns sour when one of them uses the other’s designs without permission in a competition.
The series premiered on Oct. 2 with weekly releases on Thailand’s Channel 3, featuring an eight-episode version, while Tencent’s WeTV platform offers an extended 10-episode cut. Fan events are scheduled for the final two episodes in early December 2025. The agreement for international sales was negotiated by Keetawat Chinnakote, CEO of VelCurve Studio, and Janice Woo, founder of Cappu Films.
Keetawat described “Love Design” as a GL series that delves into the world of architecture, exploring both work challenges and romantic relationships. He highlighted the talented cast and the commitment to high production standards in crafting a series that resonates with global audiences. The partnership with Cappu Films aims to showcase Thailand’s creative prowess on a global stage.
Woo expressed enthusiasm for bringing unique Asian stories to a global audience and praised “Love Design” for its bold storytelling that combines romance, rivalry, and ambition in a refreshing way. Cappu Films specializes in international sales for emerging directors and commercial genre content, with a diverse slate of offerings at TCCF including acclaimed titles like “Malika” and “Fox Hunt.”
VelCurve Studio’s track record includes the successful acquisition of “Uranus 2324” by Netflix for streaming across Southeast Asia. The studio’s collaboration with Cappu Films on “Love Design” aims to further expand the reach of Thai content to international audiences. With a focus on storytelling and quality production, the series is poised to captivate viewers worldwide.
