On Sunday, approximately 200,000 mourners congregated in Glendale, Arizona, to honor the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who tragically lost his life after being shot during a Turning Point USA event earlier this month.
The State Farm Stadium was filled with supporters of the MAGA movement, where notable figures, including President Trump, key administration officials, and X owner Elon Musk, gathered to pay their final respects to the 31-year-old Kirk.
During the service, Erika Kirk, Kirk’s grieving widow, delivered heartfelt remarks and vowed to continue his legacy, describing her husband as a “warrior” whose work remains unfinished but not unaccomplished.
The president praised Kirk’s contributions to the MAGA movement, reflecting on his impactful role.
“I believe I speak for everyone present today when I assert that none of us will forget Charlie Kirk, and history will remember him too,” Trump stated.
Here are five poignant moments from the memorial:
Widow expresses forgiveness towards her husband’s alleged killer
In a touching part of her address, Erika publicly forgave Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of murdering her husband.
“He aimed to uplift young men. Just like the one who took his life,” Erika noted. “I forgive him as it’s what Christ would do. And it’s what Charlie would have wanted.”
Trump honors Charlie Kirk as one of ‘America’s great patriots’
Trump commemorated Kirk as “one of the most brilliant lights of our era,” emphasizing that both he and his followers will forever hold Kirk in their hearts.
“He has become a martyr,” the president declared. “None of us will ever forget Charlie Kirk. He will be forever enshrined in the annals of America’s greatest patriots.”
Trump and Elon Musk reconcile at the memorial
During the ceremony, Trump and Musk were seen interacting—their first public appearance together since their earlier disagreements this year.
Musk, aged 54, was seen sharing a handshake with Trump and conversing positively, despite their past conflicts centered around Musk’s criticisms of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” Before his passing, Kirk had expressed a desire for Trump and Musk to mend their relationship.
Both leaders later shared photos online, stating they did it “for Charlie.”
Charlie Kirk’s mentor shares heartbreaking last moments
Renowned Christian radio host Frank Turek recounted the final encounter he had with his mentee before Kirk was pronounced dead, as first responders transported him away.
“His gaze met mine, but he seemed to look beyond me, toward eternity,” Turek shared. “And if it offers any solace, I learned that Charlie felt no suffering. He was in heaven now,” he added.
Trump consoles Erika Kirk at her husband’s remembrance
After delivering a moving speech, Trump invited Erika to join him on stage, where they shared a heartfelt embrace in memory of Kirk.
In the midst of their hug, the weeping widow closed her eyes, bowed her head, and signaled “I love you” in American Sign Language.
