The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans: Supporting Immigrant Scholarships
The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans is a prestigious program that provides support to immigrants and the children of immigrants in the US who are pursuing graduate studies. With funding of up to $90,000, the fellowship aims to assist 30 outstanding New Americans each year in making significant contributions to American society, culture, and academia.
The fellowship community comprises a diverse range of individuals, including visual artists, composers, architects, writers, filmmakers, scientists, public health leaders, business executives, engineers, and more. Beyond financial assistance, fellows also benefit from lifelong access to a supportive and interdisciplinary network.
“As an MFA student, it’s been wonderful to have the support of the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans — the funding has been critical, but I have also loved getting to know the other fellows across the country.”
– Ruva Chigwedere, 2024 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow
Eligible applicants for the fellowship include green card holders, naturalized citizens, DACA recipients, US-born children of two immigrants, and individuals born abroad who completed both high school and college in the United States. The program particularly encourages artists, designers, and creatives to apply.
For those interested in learning more about the fellowship and the application process, an information session is available for applicants in the visual and performing arts, writing, design, and architecture. Applications for the 2026–27 academic year must be submitted by October 30, 2025, at 2pm (ET).
