Although he narrowly missed out on his half-century, Iyer’s knock was impressive considering it was his comeback in international cricket. He also shared a vital 77-run partnership with Virat Kohli for the third wicket.

He has scored two centuries and four half-centuries against the Kiwis, with notable innings including scores of 103, 105, 52, 62, 80, and 79.
