Quinten Richardson has always considered his first meeting with Elif Erguvan to be nothing short of a miracle. It was back in 2021, while he was crossing a street in London, completely engrossed in his phone. Oblivious to his surroundings, he failed to notice a speeding black cab coming around the corner. It was then that a stranger intervened just in time, pulling him out of harm’s way. Grateful beyond words, Quinten exclaimed, “You saved my life. How can I ever repay you?”
To his surprise, Elif simply replied, “How about a drink?”
Fast forward two years, and the couple found themselves getting engaged on a rainy night in the charming neighborhood of Notting Hill. Quinten, a city planner, had orchestrated a romantic proposal at The Pelican, a local pub. Leading Elif to a private room, he dropped down on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage. Little did she know, their closest friends and family were waiting outside all along, ready to celebrate the joyous occasion.
In August of 2024, Quinten and Elif exchanged vows in a picturesque wedding ceremony held in Provence. With Quinten having spent many summers in the South of France, particularly in the village of Mougins, the couple was drawn to the idea of tying the knot in the region. Choosing the stunning Château d’Estoublon—a historic estate transformed into a hotel and vineyard—as their venue, the couple enlisted the help of Brussels-based wedding planner Guendalina Litta Modignani to curate a truly unique wedding weekend.
The festivities commenced with a grand welcome party at Carrières des Lumière, a former quarry converted into an art center. The couple opted to keep the venue a surprise for their guests, only revealing a dress code of “nuit blanche,” or white night. The guests were awestruck upon arrival, greeted by the breathtaking sight of the cavernous space adorned with ever-changing scenes of impressionist art. A magical evening followed, with a family-style dinner served on elegantly set tables illuminated by flickering candles, accompanied by the enchanting melodies of a harpist.
Elif’s attire for the evening was inspired by the raw, brutalist setting, donning a light and flowing taffeta and silk dress designed by her sister, who helms the fashion brand Ila. The juxtaposition of soft fabrics against the rugged stone backdrop created a striking and effortless statement. Quinten, on the other hand, opted for a head-to-toe ensemble from Bode, exuding a sense of timeless sophistication.
As the couple, now partners in both love and business, continue to run their design and development firm, Superattico, together, their wedding weekend in Provence remains a cherished memory—a testament to their unique love story and shared passion for art, design, and creativity.
