The Love Story of Jayda and Her Football Player Husband
When Jayda and her football player husband decided to tie the knot, they faced a dilemma. They wanted to get married soon, but their busy football season schedule made it challenging. Initially planning for a June wedding, everything changed when Jayda’s best friend, who was also her maid of honor, announced her pregnancy and due date around their wedding day. They had to quickly change their plans and moved the wedding to March, less than four months away.
Despite the unexpected change, luck was on their side when it came to the wedding venue. Jayda’s dream of getting married at Kualoa Ranch on Oahu seemed impossible due to a lack of available dates. However, a spot miraculously opened up on March 23, making it feel like everything was falling into place as intended.
The couple aimed to create a wedding that was a true reflection of their love for Hawaii and its spirit. Working with Laura Armendariz of Fawn Events, they ensured that every aspect of the celebration, from the florals to the food and drinks, was locally sourced and crafted with heart and intention.
For her wedding day attire, Jayda chose a minimal yet dramatic two-piece set by Sept by Sarah Seven. The custom-made long-line corset and pleated chiffon skirt perfectly complemented the grandeur of Kualoa’s backdrop. To add a touch of drama, Jayda wore a cathedral-length veil lined with the same lace as the corset. Opting for comfort, she wore Chanel Mary Jane flats throughout the day, paired with Hawaiian jewelry borrowed from her grandmother.
