“The Buccaneers” has officially been renewed for a third season on Apple TV+.
This praised drama, inspired by Edith Wharton’s unfinished last novel of the same name, tells the story of a group of young American women who disrupt the dating customs in London during the 1870s.
“In Season 3, our Buccaneers are taking a stand. And they’re doing it united,” the announcement regarding the renewal hints. “When they first set foot in England, they were navigating their initial romances. Now, they’re on the hunt for true love. Moreover, with a captivating new Duke in charge, Tintagel faces an unpredictable future. If the genteel English society believed our American girls were causing a stir, this new rogue Duke is poised to capsize everything.”
Season 2 of “The Buccaneers” featured talents such as Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, Mia Threapleton, Christina Hendricks, Leighton Meester, Grace Ambrose, Maria Almeida, Amelia Bullmore, Fenella Woolgar, Guy Remmers, Matthew Broome, Josh Dylan, Barney Fishwick, Greg Wise, and Jacob Ifan.
“We are thrilled to once again be donning our corsets, adorning our ball gowns, and racing excitedly across the cliffs of Tintagel for a third time to explore the passionate escapades that await our cherished Buccaneers,” series creator Katherine Jakeways remarked in a statement. “A heartfelt thank you to Apple TV+ and our dedicated audience for embracing the show as deeply as we do.”
“The Buccaneers” is written by Jakeways, while Season 2 was under the direction of William McGregor, Rachel Leiterman, John Hardwick, and Charlie Manton. Jakeways along with Beth Willis are the executive producers, and Joe Innes will join as an executive producer for Season 3. The series is produced for Apple TV+ by The Forge Entertainment, a Banijay U.K. entity.
