Mickey Rourke’s Controversial Behavior Leads to Celebrity Big Brother Exit
Mickey Rourke, the enigmatic actor known for his intense performances, continues to keep his personal details under wraps, including his age. Despite being credited as 72 years old, Rourke refuses to disclose his actual birth year, citing the ageism prevalent in his industry.
In a candid interview with Piers Morgan, Rourke explained his reluctance to be defined by his age: “In athletics, or the business I’m in, they use (age) against you so I don’t talk about it. As soon as a running back in the NFL hits 30 years old, they’re ‘over.’ So they put up they put a stigma on it, and I don’t really think it matters.”
However, Rourke’s hopes of a career resurgence suffered a major setback when his controversial behavior reportedly led to his eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house. The Oscar nominee, known for his role in 2008’s The Wrestler, found himself at odds with his fellow housemates after making offensive and homophobic remarks towards 21-year-old singer JoJo Siwa.
During his time in the house, viewers were shocked as Rourke called Siwa derogatory terms and suggested he could “make her straight.” His behavior towards Siwa, along with other incidents involving allegations of groping and threats of physical violence towards his housemates, left the producers with no choice but to remove him from the show.
Rourke’s exit from Celebrity Big Brother serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unchecked behavior and the importance of respecting others in a shared space. Despite his talent and charisma on screen, Rourke’s actions have once again placed him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
