Peacock’s new espionage thriller, “The Copenhagen Test,” introduces us to Alexander Hale, a first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst played by Simu Liu. The series, produced by UCP, follows Alexander as he discovers that his brain has been hacked, giving unknown perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. Caught between his shadowy agency and the hackers, Alexander must maintain a facade at all times to identify the culprits and prove his loyalty.
Joining Liu in the series are Melissa Barrera, Sinclair Daniel, Brian d’Arcy James, Mark O’Brien, and Kathleen Chalfant. Barrera’s character is assigned to watch over Alexander, but their relationship seems to be more complex, as hinted in the trailer.
Creator Thomas Brandon, along with co-showrunner Jennifer Yale, leads the talented team behind “The Copenhagen Test.” Executive producers include Liu, James Wan, Michael Clear, Rob Hackett, and Mark Winemaker. Jet Wilkinson takes on the role of executive producer and director for the first two episodes, with UCP as the studio.
The trailer for the series teases a gripping and intense storyline, with Alexander navigating the dangerous world of espionage while trying to uncover the truth behind the hacking of his brain. As the tension mounts and the stakes grow higher, Alexander must rely on his instincts and allies to survive.
