Danny Ramirez’s role in “The Last of Us” will be recast for Season 3 due to scheduling conflicts. Ramirez, who joined the cast of the HBO apocalypse drama in Season 2, played the character Manny. Manny is described as a loyal soldier with a sunny outlook, but harboring old wounds and a fear of failing his friends when they need him most. He is a former member of the Fireflies, a rebel militia, and is friends with Abby and helps her seek revenge on Joel for the massacre at the Firefly hospital.
Ramirez is well-known for his role as Joaquin Torres/Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” series, “Captain America: Brave New World” film, and the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday.” He will also star in the upcoming Jean-Michel Basquiat biopic “Samo Lives.”
“The Last of Us” is set 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed, following the journey of Joel and Ellie as they navigate a brutal and heartbreaking world. Season 2 saw Joel and Ellie drawn into conflict with each other and a more dangerous and unpredictable world. The series is based on the video game of the same name by Neil Druckmann, who co-created the TV series with Craig Mazin. While both writers and directors on Season 2, Druckman has since left his creative roles to focus on other projects.
As Season 3 of “The Last of Us” approaches, fans can expect a new actor to take on the role of Manny due to Ramirez’s scheduling conflicts. The show continues to explore the post-apocalyptic world and the complex relationships between its characters. Stay tuned for more updates on the cast and storyline as production progresses.
