They are the influential women who lunch on the left.
The most recent power trio of female Democrats was seen dining at the upscale Polo Bar in Midtown.
Huma Abedin, the former wife of Congressman Anthony Weiner, shared a meal with Hillary Clinton and Amal Clooney, George Clooney’s wife, at the celebrity-favorite restaurant last week, according to a source disclosed to Paula Froelich of NewsNation.
“There were discreet security and bodyguards present everywhere,” the source mentioned.
“They were seated together at a table engrossed in conversation.”
Abedin is set to marry Alex Soros, the son of philanthropist George Soros, who oversees his father’s $25 billion Open Society Foundations, a major private philanthropic organization that supports liberal political causes.
The 48-year-old, who began her political journey as an intern for Clinton in 1996, then progressed to become her deputy chief of staff and vice chair of her 2016 presidential campaign, now leads the inner circle of the Democratic Party, as per Froelich’s sources.
Clooney, an international lawyer, and her husband, who famously wrote the 2024 New York Times essay “I Love Joe Biden, But We Need A New Nominee,” are revered figures in liberal circles and jointly manage the Clooney Foundation for Justice.
Abedin, Clinton, and Clooney are now dubbed as “the female triumvirate of the Democratic Party,” stated Froelich, revealing that Abedin’s wedding to Soros is scheduled for June 14 in the Hamptons and might involve discussions among Democrats about revitalizing the party.
“If these individuals are selecting the new party leader, we might be in trouble,” an insider remarked.
