Google is making changes to the At A Glance widget on Pixel phones, according to a report by Tech Advisor. The new update, which is currently in the Android 16 QPR3 beta version, features a redesigned widget with a high-contrast, semi-transparent background. This change aims to improve the readability of text on the widget across different wallpapers and color schemes.

One of the most anticipated updates is the option for users to completely remove the At A Glance widget from their Pixel home screens. This feature is expected to be available in the upcoming Android 16 QPR3 update in March. While some users may choose to remove the widget, many people find it useful and are looking forward to the new changes that will make it more user-friendly.

Currently, the text on the At A Glance widget can blend in with the background image on the home screen, making it difficult to read. Google is now testing a new setting that will address this issue and make the widget easier to read. The new setting will give the widget a high-contrast background, separating it from the wallpaper. This semi-transparent background will work with both black and white text and will also be visible on the lock screen.

It is not yet clear when Google will release this new setting to Pixel phones, as it is currently only available in the QPR3 beta version of Android 16. However, users can expect an improved At A Glance widget in the near future.
