Donald Trump appears to be in a state of panic. Despite his various attempts to shift the narrative—including threats to prosecute Barack Obama—his supporters and the media remain fixated on the Epstein files.
In a bid for distraction that borders on the absurd, Trump has threatened to block the Washington, D.C. NFL team’s new stadium unless they revert to their previous name, the Redskins. What relevance does this have to presidential duties or pressing national matters? The answer is quite simple: none whatsoever. Yet, Trump seems desperate enough to grasp at any straw to divert attention from the Epstein files.
As his other tactics falter, Trump appears to be preparing to pin the blame for the Epstein files’ non-release on someone else—Attorney General Pam Bondi is the likely scapegoat.
When White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was questioned about why Trump has not done more to facilitate the release of the Epstein files, her response was telling: “The president has said if the Department of Justice and the FBI want to move forward with releasing any further credible evidence, they should do so as to why they have or have not, or will. You should ask the FBI about that. It’s up to the attorney general.”

With distractions proving ineffective, it seems the Trump administration is setting Pam Bondi up to take the fall regarding the Epstein files. Once the MAGA base’s attention could no longer be diverted by Trump’s shiny distractions, it became clear that someone had to be held accountable for the Epstein files cover-up. Since Trump himself is unlikely to be the target of blame, it appears that someone within the Department of Justice will have to bear the brunt of it.
It looks like Pam Bondi is on the verge of being ousted from the administration, suggesting that the Trump team might be turning on itself as their previous evasive maneuvers to dissipate the Epstein scandal fall flat.
