They were also shocked to learn about the amount of food that goes to waste each year and the environmental impact it has. This sparked a conversation about the importance of making sustainable choices and reducing food waste in their own lives.

Overall, the Rethinking Food Waste program from Educated Choices was a huge success in my classroom. It engaged my students, sparked meaningful conversations, and aligned with curriculum standards. I highly recommend this program to other educators looking to teach their students about sustainability, food waste, and environmental impacts in a fun and educational way.

Students are becoming more conscious of the impact of food waste on our environment and are taking action to make a difference. With programs like the one run by Christine Arsenis, where students collect unopened breakfast items to reduce waste, young people are learning the importance of making educated choices when it comes to food consumption.

This newfound awareness is leading students to check food labels more closely and pay attention to the origin of production when selecting their snacks and meals. They are gravitating towards companies that prioritize sustainable and ethical practices in order to support a more environmentally friendly food industry.

By understanding the consequences of food waste on both a local and global scale, students are motivated to make changes in their own communities. Through initiatives like tracking food waste reduction at their schools, they can see the direct impact of their efforts and make a real difference in reducing waste.

The Educated Choices Program is just one example of how educators are empowering students to make informed decisions about food consumption and waste. By providing resources and support, teachers are helping young people develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment and encouraging them to take action.

As students become more aware of the impact of food waste, they are likely to continue to look at food labels more carefully and support companies that align with their values. This shift towards sustainable and ethical practices in food production is not only beneficial for the environment but also for the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

Overall, programs like Educated Choices are inspiring students to think differently about food waste and make positive changes in their daily lives. By educating young people about the importance of making informed choices when it comes to food consumption, we can create a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future for generations to come.
