In response to a gunman attempting to enter the White House Correspondents Dinner, the Trump administration and its supporters have proposed building a ballroom as a solution to potential mass shootings and assassination attempts.

Nevertheless, the Trump administration’s rallying cry is “build the ballroom.”

Acting AG Todd Blanche posted on X about the lawsuit delaying the construction of Trump’s ballroom:

This lawsuit is on behalf of a single person who walks near the White House once a month and expects to dislike the new East Wing design. The aesthetic concerns of one person cannot justify delaying the construction of a secure facility for the President to do his job.

The president’s responsibilities do not include spending time in ballrooms or constructing them. Ballrooms are not related to the presidency.

Blanche’s statement has several issues. Firstly, the president already has a secure place to work: the Oval Office.

The lawsuit exists because Trump did not obtain Congressional authorization, making his ballroom construction seem illegal.
