The highly anticipated Season 4 of “The White Lotus” is currently in the works, with creator Mike White busy writing the next installment of the hit anthology series. According to a report from Variety, the upcoming season will be filmed at the Château de La Messardière, a 19th-century palace-turned-luxury hotel located in Saint-Tropez on the Côte d’Azur.
Situated within 32 acres of stunning landscape featuring parasol pines, cypress trees, and jasmine, the Château de La Messardière is part of the Airelles Collection, a group of prestigious five-star hotels owned by Stephane Courbit, who is also the founder and chairman of Banijay Group. The luxurious property offers suites ranging from $3,000 to $8,000 per night, along with amenities such as a spa, beach access via Rolls-Royce transfer, restaurants, sports activities, and a children’s camp.
Filming for Season 4 is scheduled to begin at the end of April and will continue through the end of October. As with previous seasons, the production will utilize multiple locations to create unique backdrops for the story. In addition to the Château de La Messardière, the French Riviera and a Paris hotel will also serve as filming locations.
While details about the plot of Season 4 are being kept under wraps, HBO has confirmed that it will once again follow a group of hotel guests and employees over the course of a week. There are speculations that the Cannes Film Festival may play a part in the storyline, given that the show will be filming on the Riviera during the festival dates of May 13-26.
Casting for Season 4 is currently underway, with a focus on French actors for this installment. Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka have been announced as new cast members, joining returning actors Jennifer Coolidge, Natasha Rothwell, and Jon Gries. Season 3, set in Thailand and featuring a star-studded ensemble including Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, and Sam Rockwell, received eight acting Emmy nominations.
Executive produced by Mike White, David Bernad, and Mark Kamine, “The White Lotus” continues to captivate audiences with its intriguing storylines and talented cast. Stay tuned for more updates as filming for Season 4 progresses at the picturesque Château de La Messardière.
