Julie Mehretu, whose print “City Sitings II” will be on view at Gemini G.E.L.’s booth, will discuss her decision to create a print that expands on her large-scale paintings, and how it fits into her overall practice. Derrick Adams, known for his multimedia work exploring Black culture and identity, will talk about how printmaking has influenced his recent projects. Donald Sultan, whose prints are included in the collections of MoMA, the Guggenheim, and the Whitney Museum, will discuss his use of industrial materials in his printmaking process.
The fair will also include panel discussions on topics ranging from the history of printmaking to its contemporary relevance, as well as a special exhibition of prints by emerging artists. Tickets are available at the door or online at ifpda.org.
