The Third Trial of Aql in Dune Awakening is a crucial location that players must visit after reaching the Vermillius Gap. While the Second Trial of Aql is a must-visit, there are two more trials in this region, with the Third Trial of Aql being the easiest to reach. Located in the Western Vermillius Gap, this trial is situated in the heart of the Hagga Basin map.
If you have activated a Survey Beacon in the Western Vermillius Gap, the location of the Third Trial will be revealed to you directly. Look out for the purple icon denoting the Cave of the Lost Pilgrim. However, if you are exploring without the aid of a Survey Beacon, follow these directions: from the Wreck of the Pallas, head to the western corner and proceed west until you reach a distant rock face. Follow the trail of rocks southward, and you’ll find the Cave of the Lost Pilgrim on the next rock island.
Upon reaching the cave, you will encounter a wide stairway leading into it. Be prepared for combat as the Sardukar may have already looted the place. While the Third Trial of Aql may not offer traditional trials, you can still listen to a recording at the end of the tunnel, where you’ll find the collapsed Trial mural.
Outside the cave, there are several notable locations to explore. To the south, you can discover the entrance to the Coil of the Wyrms, a sealed cave containing a chest that drops parts of the Oathbreaker Set. Additionally, further south lies the Table of the Gods, a giant plateau atop a high cliff that requires platforming skills to reach. The crate found here can drop valuable items such as the Buoyant Reaper Mk2, Hajra Literjon Mk2, Scipio’s Bloodbag, or The Emperor’s Wings Mk2.
In conclusion, the Third Trial of Aql in Dune Awakening may not offer traditional challenges, but it is still a significant location to explore. Make sure to visit the nearby areas for additional rewards and challenges before leaving the vicinity.
