Three teenagers, aged 15, 16, and 17, have been charged with committing two armed robberies in the Lincoln Square and West Ridge neighborhoods on Monday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The first incident took place around 10 p.m. in the 6600 block of North Maplewood Avenue. Three armed individuals emerged from an SUV and robbed a 44-year-old man at gunpoint. The suspects brandished firearms as they stole the victim’s wallet before fleeing the scene in their vehicle.
Less than an hour later, a second attempted robbery occurred in the 2200 block of West Winona Street. Three masked individuals armed with guns tried to rob a 42-year-old man but were unsuccessful. Once again, the suspects escaped in an SUV.
Police officers conducted a search of the area and located a vehicle matching the description provided by the victims. The three juveniles were apprehended in the 2500 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue at 11:22 p.m.
All three teenagers are facing charges of armed robbery and attempted armed robbery. Additionally, the 17-year-old is also charged with obstructing identification. Due to the nature of the charges and the ages of the suspects, further details about their identities and backgrounds are not available as juvenile court proceedings are confidential.

CWBChicago was established in 2013 by a group of residents from Wrigleyville and Boystown who recognized the need for accurate and detailed public safety information. Since then, our coverage area has expanded to include neighborhoods such as Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side areas.
