Justin Alexander, the talented designer behind both of Tiler’s stunning wedding dresses, played a pivotal role in creating a truly magical moment. Not only did he design the gorgeous gowns, but he was also present at the celebration, witnessing the beautiful full-circle moment he had inadvertently helped bring to life.
For the ceremony, Tiler donned a breathtaking ivory gown featuring off-the-shoulder swags and a sweeping train adorned with three-dimensional rosettes and vines. The intricate pearl beading added a touch of sparkle, shimmering from the centers of delicate rosebuds and tracing the curves of the appliquéd leaves. Her hair, elegantly parted to the side, exuded a timeless glamour reminiscent of the silver screen sirens of the 1940s. Completing her ensemble were pearl-encrusted Jimmy Choo sandals with serpentine straps that glistened with every graceful step she took. Roman, her groom, looked dashing in a black Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo for the ceremony, later changing into a white jacket for the reception.
Tiler’s second dress, also designed by Justin Alexander, was a stunning lace strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline layered over a soft beige slip. The sheer ivory overlay was intricately embroidered with delicate florals and leafy vines, creating a romantic and ethereal look that was perfect for dancing the night away.
The ceremony was a deeply personal affair, with Tiler carrying a locket containing a photo of her late father attached to her bouquet. Walking down the aisle to her father’s favorite song, performed live by their dear friend and violinist Hilary Hahn, Tiler felt his presence strongly. Roman’s vows were filled with memories of the cross-country trips he took with Tiler to visit her father in his final year, showcasing the depth of his love and devotion. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows, ending the ceremony with cheers and kisses as they stepped out into the warm sunshine of a quintessentially New York summer day.
Planned meticulously by Tiler’s longtime friend Claudia Hanlin of the Wedding Library, the celebration was a feast for the senses, filled with thoughtful details and warm textures. From hand-painted candles from Ukraine to custom block-printed cushions from India, every element was carefully curated to reflect Tiler’s impeccable taste. Marcella Floral Studio created lush, painterly florals that added a touch of elegance to the tented garden party behind Tavern on the Green.
The reception was a dreamy affair, with tables adorned in printed linens, flickering taper candles, and abundant florals in blush, cream, and green hues. Custom-designed escort cards, ceremony programs, and menu cards created in collaboration with Bella Figura added a touch of sophistication to the event. The overall ambiance was elegant, unfussy, and perfectly complemented by the picturesque setting, creating a truly unforgettable wedding celebration.
