Timothy Busfield
Had to Pay $150K For Unsuccessful Defamation Lawsuit
… Regarding Child Sexual Assault

Timothy Busfield‘s legal troubles regarding allegations of child sexual abuse have resurfaced. A judge had previously ordered the actor to pay $150K for an unsuccessful defamation lawsuit.
In 1996, Busfield filed a lawsuit against the law firm Messerli & Kramer, accusing them of fabricating a story about him sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl during the filming of the 1994 movie “Little Big League.” The lawsuit was reported by Deseret News.
The alleged incident involved an extra on the film, and Busfield reportedly settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.
Despite his efforts to sue for defamation, the judge ruled in favor of the law firm, ordering Busfield to cover their legal expenses.
Recently, prosecutors in New Mexico issued an arrest warrant for Busfield, accusing him of sexually abusing two underage boys while working on “The Cleaning Lady.”
Albuquerque police initiated an investigation in late 2024, leading to the warrant being issued. Authorities are urging Busfield to surrender himself.
Busfield, who is married to actress Melissa Gilbert, is facing serious allegations amid his wife’s recent advocacy against child sexual abuse.
TMZ has reached out to Busfield’s representatives for a response, but no statement has been provided at this time.
