Tom Arnold is sharing stories from his life on the My Crazy X-Wife tour, but he emphasizes that Roseanne Barr is not his wildest ex.
“People often comment, ‘My Crazy X-Wife — I wonder if it’s about Roseanne,’” he revealed to Us Weekly in an exclusive interview. “And honestly, I respond, ‘She’s not even on the list of my craziest ex-wives since we didn’t have children together.’ The most outrageous thing she did? Going on Saturday Night Live and publicly revealing that I have a three-inch penis, which is supposed to be confidential. That’s personal and stays between us.”
Always a jokester, Arnold, 66, couldn’t resist making a quip about Barr, 72, despite their history. The couple was married for four years, from 1990 to 1994.
“Even a 747 can look small when flying over the Grand Canyon,” he added humorously.
After his divorce from Barr, Arnold tied the knot with Julie Lynn Champnella, but the marriage ended in 1999. Following that, he was married to Shelby Roos from 2002 to 2008, and then to Ashley Groussman from 2009 to 2020. Arnold and Groussman have two children, son Jax, 12, and daughter Quinn, 9.
“This was a long time coming; we were together for nearly 11 years. I am sincerely grateful for our years together. I have my children thanks to my wife,” Arnold expressed in a statement during their separation. “Everyone deserves to live their life authentically… And it’s challenging because society often imposes guilt on women… I kept assuring her, ‘You have done everything right. We’ve had a good life together. It’s okay to part ways without needing a villain in the story.’”
Their divorce culminated in a protracted legal battle over custody and domestic violence allegations from Groussman, which Arnold has categorically denied. This ordeal reportedly cost him “millions of dollars” and has taken a toll on his mental and physical health, as Us noted in July.
True to the nature of Arnold’s tour, he’s managed to turn his past relationships into comedic material.
“Having four ex-wives elevates the situation to a point where you start thinking, ‘Okay, maybe it’s me,’” he stated. “And you know what? It absolutely is me, 100 percent.”
“You have to learn to laugh at it all. Life is so unpredictable, full of wild moments. But I appreciate each day, and it arguably makes me a better father. I try not to take anything for granted,” he reflected.
In July, a judge dismissed further domestic violence claims made by Groussman after their split.
“After enduring over a year of legal battles, I’m relieved to announce that the court has dismissed all accusations related to a domestic violence restraining order filed after our separation,” he stated to Us at that time. “The initial request was rejected, and following an extensive trial, the judge determined that the allegations lacked merit and were unfounded.”
He concluded, “Despite numerous attempts to undermine my character, the truth has emerged. This ordeal has significantly affected my health and well-being, but the hardest part has been on our children. I am thankful for all the support I received during this challenging chapter.”
