Tom Brady has entered the chat after Dave Portnoy claimed that Brady had pocketed an outrageous $75 million to “unretire” and engage in flag football in Saudi Arabia, quipping sarcastically, “who cares about facts, right?”
This revelation originated from a segment on “Wake Up Barstool” where Portnoy suggested that Brady had secured the jaw-dropping sum for participating in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic alongside a host of current and former NFL stars.
Brady, having caught wind of Portnoy’s claims, provocatively questioned the Barstool founder, “Are we just picking numbers out of a hat and reporting them?”
In classic Brady fashion, he added, “While we’re at it… Elvis is slated for the halftime show, and Babe Ruth will grace us with some autographs.” He also cheekily noted that “Dave prefers floppy pizza.”
Despite the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s snappy rebuttal, Portnoy remained stubborn, insisting “that’s the number I was told,” and invited Brady onto his show for a deeper discussion.
On “The Unnamed Show” last week, Portnoy labeled Brady as “a money whore,” alleging that he’s willing to dabble in just about anything as he navigates his post-playing career.
However, Portnoy also acknowledged the allure of such lucrative offers, remarking, “Having said that, I don’t know anyone who would turn down that much money for one second.”
The specific remuneration that Brady is receiving for the event remains shrouded in mystery. However, given the General Entertainment Authority’s penchant for hefty expenditures on events within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one can assume that Brady isn’t taking this gig for free.
