Netflix has surprised fans with a hilarious Mother’s Day gift featuring Tom Segura’s Peruvian mom, Charo, giving her brutally honest feedback on his new sketch comedy series, “Bad Thoughts.”
In an exclusive promo released by Variety, the comedian invites his mother to a private screening of the show, complete with a reaction device to track her feedback. The video captures Charo’s unfiltered reactions as she watches the twisted and surreal humor unfold on screen.
As the sketches delve into inappropriate and shocking territory, Charo doesn’t hold back in expressing her disapproval. She calls the content disgusting and declares it an insult to humanity. Despite Segura’s attempts to defend the humor, his mother remains unimpressed and even threatens to disown him.
“Bad Thoughts,” set to debut on May 13 on Netflix, promises to be a six-episode explosion of twisted and grotesque humor. Described as a mix of “Black Mirror” and David Cronenberg, the series features prosthetic genitals, deepfake horror, and conjoined twin absurdities. It’s a show that pushes boundaries and evidently doesn’t sit well with Charo.
Segura shared his mother’s reaction to the show, revealing that she was appalled and demanded he give back the money. Despite her repeated pleas to cancel the show, Segura humorously announces its release date and thanks his mom for her feedback.
While “Bad Thoughts” may not be suitable for all audiences, it’s sure to make a splash with its unconventional and daring humor. Whether viewers embrace the filth or hit the red button like Charo, the show is bound to leave a lasting impression.
