A former three-time WWE champion may face consequences and be removed from AEW TV following recent actions. Ricochet, known for his high-flying skills in the Jacksonville-based promotion, has maintained a heel persona for over a year, even extending it to social media where he frequently trolls critics and promotes upcoming matches and opponents.
At the Revolution event, Ricochet, also called The Highlight of the Night, experienced a setback. He lost his AEW National Championship to Jack Perry in a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal after holding the title for more than 100 days. Following this defeat, Ricochet reportedly had a major outburst backstage.
After a fan mocked his reaction and called his acting skills into question, Ricochet responded offensively by ridiculing the fan’s multiple sclerosis condition. This reaction has led to widespread criticism and calls from fans urging Tony Khan and AEW to take disciplinary action against Ricochet for his inappropriate comments.
AEW President Tony Khan might address these concerns, as Ricochet’s comments have been considered a step too far. There is potential for him to suspend the former United States Champion as a disciplinary measure.
Stevie Richards Believes AEW’s Ricochet Could Learn from WWE Legend AJ Styles
Ricochet has faced criticism over the years for his wrestling style. Veteran wrestler Stevie Richards has offered some advice for him.
During an episode of the Stevie Richards Show, Richards suggested that Ricochet could benefit from studying AJ Styles. He noted, “I would say AJ Styles would be somebody that Ricochet should watch because AJ mixes a Ricochet-like style with that Georgia Bulldog mentality where AJ looks like he still wants to fight. He looks like he’s nasty in some ways. And that is the missing element of Ricochet. The cartwheels, handstands are perfect. Is there an America’s Got Talent for gymnastics or anything? I think this is one of the most tame criticisms of anybody by Jim Cornette,” he said.
It remains to be seen how Ricochet will navigate the aftermath of his recent remarks.
