British television personality and host of “Top Gear,” Jeremy Clarkson, has disclosed his diagnosis with an “aggressive” cancer.
In the final episodes of “Clarkson’s Farm” Season 5, available on Prime Video, Clarkson informed his colleagues Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper of his condition, stating, “I’ve got cancer.” In disbelief, Cooper asked, “No, you haven’t. Where?” Clarkson responded, “Where it is is of no concern of anybody. I’ve known since May.”
Clarkson explained his recent absence, saying it was due to a doctor’s visit where he underwent a biopsy. He was informed that the cancer was “aggressive,” but fortunately, it was caught “really early.”
He further mentioned, “I’ll have to go and have an operation and then, the operation is in and out in no time, but your body’s out of action for a little while.”
Footage later showed Clarkson in a hospital bed, commenting on how “Clarkson’s Farm” Season 5 began and ended with him in a hospital bed. He noted that “some of the treatment” had “gone awry,” adding, “if my next round of treatment is successful, I’ll see you for Season 6, and if it isn’t, I won’t.”
Prior to the Season 5 finale of “Clarkson’s Farm,” Clarkson shared a video on Instagram, advising fans that the episodes would be “really, really difficult.”
For nearly two decades, Clarkson hosted “Top Gear” with Richard Hammond and James May. The BBC aired 240 episodes from 2002 to 2022, featuring the trio exploring and discussing unique and exotic automobiles. “Clarkson’s Farm,” which premiered on Prime Video in 2021, chronicles Clarkson’s efforts to manage a countryside farm without prior experience.
