Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott Finalize Divorce Out of Court
Rumors of a split between Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott started swirling in June 2023 when McDermott took to Instagram to announce the news with a heavy heart. However, he later admitted that he was under the influence when he shared the post and quickly deleted it.
In July 2023, Spelling added fuel to the fire by moving into a budget motel in Hollywood with their five children. The following month, she relocated to an RV amid reports of financial difficulties. Spelling later defended herself against claims of homelessness, stating that the RV was meant for a family camping trip before the start of the school year.
McDermott opened up about his struggles with alcoholism, acknowledging that it played a significant role in the breakdown of their marriage. In a November 2023 interview, he revealed that Spelling had helped him check into rehab the previous summer, and he was currently living in a sober house.
“Alcohol made me feel good enough. I started feeling good enough until it got to a point where it didn’t — it ended up in isolation,” McDermott confessed. “All Tori’s ever done to this day is want me to be happy and healthy, and I inflicted a lot of damage and pain on that woman. I’m taking accountability for that today, and it’s the biggest amend that I’m ever going to have to make,” he added, referring to his participation in a 12-step program.
Despite their tumultuous journey, Spelling and McDermott have now finalized their divorce out of court. The couple, who have been married for over a decade, seem to be moving forward with their lives separately, focusing on their individual paths to healing and recovery.
