A tractor was engulfed in flames while driving up Three Mile Hill Road, leading to a fire incident that required the response of fire crews from Mosgiel and Rosyln. The incident occurred around 11.45am near the Taieri Plain lookout, resulting in the closure of the road as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the surrounding vegetation.
Fortunately, the driver of the tractor was able to escape the burning vehicle unharmed. Upon arrival at the scene, the tractor was fully engulfed in flames, but thankfully, it did not pose a risk to anything else in the vicinity, according to a spokesperson from Fenz.
Despite the intensity of the fire, no vegetation was ignited, and the firefighters were able to bring the situation under control. A fire investigator was summoned to the scene to determine the cause of the blaze, which was not initially considered suspicious.
Fire crews remained on site to ensure that the tractor was completely extinguished, emphasizing the importance of thorough firefighting procedures to prevent any potential reignition of the flames.
