Reya Jasmine, a trans-identified male previously known as David Mark Jasmine, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following the alleged stabbing of his wife, Margaret Jasmin, earlier this month.
The couple had been in what appeared to be a traditional marriage, with their child present at the home during the arrest of David Jasmine, who was reportedly baptized in a Catholic church.
As David began transitioning, it seems that Margaret was less than supportive. He took to platforms like Reddit to vent his frustrations, stating in one post, “Her husband is dead and she hates the person who replaced him. Even though I still present as male nearly 100% of the time. And I’m still the same me. A better version of me, I’d like to think.”
In another online comment, he remarked, “When the rubber meets the road, she is transphobic.”
Further investigation into Jasmine’s social media revealed an interest in polygamy and efforts to incorporate other women into their relationship.
Additionally, journalist Andy Ngo highlighted that “Mr. Jasmin is a far-left activist who was notable for participating in a ‘Ask a Transgender Woman Anything’ event at the local Plaistow Public Library.”

Critics, including the account Libs of TikTok on X, pointed out that mainstream media outlets have been reluctant to accurately describe Jasmine’s gender identity, often referring to him as a “woman” or a “wife.”

According to reports from the Post Millennial, Margaret Jasmin was fatally stabbed on May 18, leading to the arrest of her partner, Reya Jasmin, who identifies as transgender and was also found injured at the scene.
The couple’s child, believed to be nine years old, was present during the incident but unharmed, and has since been removed from the home. Reya Jasmin commenced the process of gender transition in 2017, starting hormone treatment in 2018, while Margaret also began transitioning around the same time.
In seeking support online after his transition, Reya expressed frustration over Margaret’s lack of acceptance. Under the username explosive_donut, he shared, “Her husband is dead and she hates the person who replaced him. Even though I still present as male nearly 100% of the time. And I’m still the same me. A better version of me, I’d like to think.”
He further elaborated on the support he received, stating, “I have a good support network beyond her—people who love and support me and want to help me become the real me.” In a follow-up post, he criticized Margaret, stating, “She’s always called herself an intersectional feminist. But I guess when the rubber meets the road, she is transphobic.”
