Travis Kelce recently addressed his NFL future during a conversation with his older brother, Jason Kelce, as part of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown segment.
During the October 6 interview, Jason, 37, remarked, “Trav, year 13. I don’t know how many you got left,” while talking with Travis, 36, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and their coach, Andy Reid.
Jason inquired, “How are you approaching this season?” prompting Travis to suggest that he isn’t ready to retire just yet.
“Man, I feel lucky to keep having fun with these guys year after year,” Travis responded, adding, “I take it day by day, year by year. I just love coming into work with these guys.”
A three-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, Travis elaborated, “That culture has become my way of life. The expectation each year is Super Bowl or bust.”
He acknowledged the challenges faced by the Chiefs after starting the 2025-2026 NFL season with two losses but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to recover.
“The eye in the sky doesn’t lie, baby. Those first two games show we’re just a few plays away from being undefeated,” he remarked.
In another part of the interview, Jason acknowledged Travis’s recent personal milestones, including his engagement to Taylor Swift in August.
“Let’s talk about what everyone wants to know,” Jason started, prompting the trio’s discussion before the Chiefs’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. “Trav, when’s the wedding?”
Travis burst into laughter, retorting, “Shut the f*** up.”
While there was no further comment from Jason on Travis’s relationship with Taylor, 35, he did express gratitude for their brotherly bond highlighted during the game in Jacksonville, Florida.
“I truly value having a brother I love with a supportive family,” he shared with his co-hosts. “I feel incredibly lucky. We may live in a strange world, but I’m very blessed.”
Jason wasn’t the only member of the Kelce family at EverBank Stadium that day supporting Travis. Their mom, Donna Kelce, was seen on-field during pregame warmups. Donna, 72, donned a No. 87 jersey to cheer on her youngest son, along with Chiefs-themed accessories.
Beyond her NFL attire, Donna wore a Swiftie hat featuring an illustration of her future daughter-in-law and “friendship bracelets” — a tribute to Swift’s Eras Tour.
“The sweetest mother-in-law,” remarked a fan on social media, applauding Donna’s supportive gesture on the sidelines.
The game was a special gathering for the Kelces, being the first family NFL event following Travis’s 36th birthday on October 5, which coincided with Swift’s release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
On his birthday, Travis was seen at The Official Release Party of a Showgirl at Tinsel Town theater in Jacksonville, where Donna also attended alongside her brother, Don, and his spouse, Joan, as exemplified in various social media photos.
In other news, Swift premiered the official music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” on Sunday, drawing inspiration from her fiancé.
“You dug me out of my grave and / Saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia (Ophelia),” Swift sings, alluding to Travis preventing her from becoming like the character in Hamlet, who suffered as a result of love. “Keep it one hundred on the land (Land), the sea (The sea), the sky / Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes.”
She concludes with, “Don’t care where the hell you’ve been (Been) ’cause now (Now), you’re mine / It’s about to be the sleepless night you’ve been dreaming of / The fate of Ophelia.”
