A dramatic video captures a heated exchange between a garbage truck driver and anti-ICE protesters outside Newark’s Delaney Hall immigration center. The protesters obstructed his work, adding to the chaos as Antifa members clashed with agents.
“What’s wrong with ya all?” the driver shouted at the demonstrators on Wednesday night, as seen in a video from Freedom News.
The driver continued to express his frustration at the protesters who were rallying against the conditions inside the New Jersey detention facility.
“Come on man,” the driver exclaimed before returning to his truck.
Outside Delaney Hall, chaos erupted as immigration agents used batons on disorderly protesters.
The anti-ICE demonstrators, many donning keffiyeh scarves and waving Antifa flags, began assembling over the Memorial Day weekend. This was reportedly in response to hundreds of ICE detainees inside launching a hunger and labor strike to protest conditions in the 1,000-bed facility.
However, Homeland Security chief Markwayne Mullin denied any ongoing hunger strike at Delaney Hall, asserting there are “no subprime conditions.” He criticized “New Jersey sanctuary politicians” for seeking access to the facility in pursuit of “fundraising clicks.”
“Dozens of New Jersey sanctuary politicians chose to spend their Memorial Day weekend smearing ICE law enforcement,” Mullin stated in a fiery post on X Monday.
“They should be thanking our law enforcement for removing these murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and drug traffickers from their state.”
Homeland Security dismissed the hunger strike claims once more on Tuesday, emphasizing that detainees are being “provided with 3 meals a day, clean water, clothing, bedding, showers, soap, toiletries, and opportunities to communicate with their family members and lawyers.”
The agency added, “Aliens are also provided comprehensive healthcare, including medical, dental, and mental health services as available, and access to medical appointments and 24-hour emergency care.”
“For many illegal aliens, this is the BEST healthcare they have received their entire lives.”
