The Trump administration has authorized the deployment of 200 Marines to Florida to assist with ICE deportation raids across the state, as announced by military officials on Thursday.
The decision to mobilize the Marines was made in response to a request for military assistance from the Department of Homeland Security back in May.
According to a statement from US Northern Command, the Marines will provide support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s “interior immigration enforcement mission.”
