Former President Trump condemned the shooting incident at a Dallas ICE facility on Wednesday, attributing the violent act to the “Radical Leftists” responsible for the attack that resulted in one migrant’s death and two others sustaining critical injuries.
“The dedicated members of ICE are simply doing their jobs to remove the ‘WORST of the WORST’ criminals from our country, yet they are encountering an alarming rise in threats and violence by these Deranged Radical Leftists,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
The assailant, 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, reportedly opened fire at the Texas field office early on Wednesday, hitting three detainees who were being processed at the facility.
“It has been disclosed that the disturbed shooter inscribed “Anti-ICE” on his bullet casings. This is utterly reprehensible!” Trump remarked, referring to the shell casings discovered near the shooter’s remains.
The Latest on the Dallas ICE shooting incident
- A shooter identified as Joshua Jahn, 29 opened fire on an ICE transport vehicle at a Dallas detention center in the early hours of September 24.
- Jahn began shooting during the transfer of detainees when the entrance to the facility was open, according to reports.
- One individual was reported dead and two others sustained injuries. Jahn was discovered deceased on a nearby rooftop from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
- The FBI found inscriptions on the ammunition, including the words “ANTI-ICE.”
- The authorities are treating the shooting as a “targeted incident” according to the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Dallas office, Joe Rothrock.
Jahn was ultimately found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot on a rooftop nearby.
Trump argued that this surge in violence can be attributed to the “Radical Left Democrats” who are said to vilify law enforcement and refer to ICE agents as “Nazis.”
“The increasing violence from Radical Left Terrorists, following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, must cease. ICE Officers and other courageous law enforcement personnel are facing serious dangers,” he stated.
The president, aged 79, previously labeled Antifa as a domestic terrorism group and urged Democrats to refrain from their anti-ICE rhetoric.
“I CALL UPON ALL DEMOCRATS TO CEASE THIS RHETORIC AGAINST ICE AND AMERICAN LAW ENFORCEMENT IMMEDIATELY!” Trump exclaimed. “The Trump Administration is dedicated to supporting Law Enforcement, enforcing Strong Borders, securing our Homeland, deporting Dangerous Illegal Criminals, and thoroughly eliminating the Left Wing Domestic Terrorism that is endangering our Country.”
The FBI has announced that the incident is under investigation as a “targeted attack,” while confirming that all federal agents are secure.
One of the injured detainees has been identified as a Mexican national and is presently hospitalized, receiving medical attention, as reported by Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
“Consular representatives have reached out to the victim’s family offering support and legal guidance,” officials stated.
