Donald Trump’s ability to convince the masses has often been overstated. The media has perpetuated the idea that he is a masterful political communicator capable of swaying public sentiment with ease. However, the reality is that his so-called “salesmanship” often results in products—be they policies or military actions—that fail to deliver.
Take, for example, Trump’s recent claims regarding the destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities. On Saturday night, he enthusiastically promoted the narrative that these sites had been thoroughly obliterated. Yet, experts have cast doubt on the veracity of that claim, raising questions about whether any significant damage was actually inflicted.
In response to the skepticism, Trump expressed his frustration in a familiar fashion:
The sites that we hit in Iran were totally destroyed, and everyone knows it. Only the Fake News would say anything different in order to try and demean, as much as possible — And even they say they were “pretty well destroyed!” Working especially hard on this falsehood is Allison Cooper of Fake News CNN, Dumb Brian L. Roberts, Chairman of “Con”cast, Jonny Karl of ABC Fake News, and always, the Losers of, again, Concast’s NBC Fake News. It never ends with the sleazebags in the Media, and that’s why their Ratings are at an ALL TIME LOW — ZERO CREDIBILITY!
When Trump asserts that “everyone knows” something, it often signals a departure from reality. There is no concrete evidence to support the idea that Iran’s nuclear ambitions were fully dismantled. On the contrary, it is plausible that any damage incurred has simply driven the program underground, away from the prying eyes of international inspectors, and accelerated Iran’s pursuit of nuclear capabilities.
Trump’s penchant for exaggeration and misinformation has led him to this very predicament. While the likelihood of the nuclear sites being completely destroyed is slim, he is already eager to declare victory. Any dissenters who dare to challenge his narrative with factual evidence are met with his characteristic indignation.
