On Wednesday, President Donald Trump launched a scathing social media attack on filmmaker Michael Moore, criticizing his backing of progressive candidates.
Earlier in the week, Moore had appeared on CNN, advocating for progressive Democrats to take over the party from its established leaders, stating, “it’s time we started winning.”
Responding on Truth Social, Trump retorted: “No Michael, just get used to more losing! You’ve been a Loser all your life, and nothing’s going to change.”
Trump further added, “Abdul, your new Communist Comrade, will not be able to save you. He knows you are a failed LOWLIFE, and he wants to pick up where you have left.”
While neither Moore nor Abdul are actually “communists,” Trump has been employing the term—encouraging others in his party to adopt it—as a label for many Democratic figures. This rhetoric has become more frequent as polls indicate Democrats are in a strong position to win the House in the upcoming autumn midterm elections, with a potential chance to take control of the Senate as well.
Trump also boasted, “Best Economic Numbers, EVER, Best Trade Numbers, Best Export Numbers, Biggest Investment in our Country, and on, and on,” before turning his attention back to Moore: “This is the Golden Age of America, and a small group of misfits, like you, Abdul, and others, won’t be able to destroy it, and change the course of History in so doing.”
He concluded his message with, “See you on the Political Battlefield.”
