President-elect Donald Trump appoints Massad Boulos, father-in-law of daughter Tiffany, as Arab and Middle Eastern affairs advisor
Massad Boulos, father-in-law of President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter Tiffany, has been selected as the advisor for Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. Boulos actively supported Trump during the election campaign, particularly in engaging the Arab American voter base.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, stating, “I am proud to announce that Massad Boulos will serve as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.” He highlighted Boulos’s background as an accomplished lawyer and respected business leader with significant international experience.
According to Trump, Boulos has long been a supporter of Republican and Conservative values, contributing to building strong coalitions with the Arab American Community. The president-elect also emphasized Boulos’s commitment to promoting peace in the Middle East, describing him as a skilled negotiator and advocate for U.S. interests.
Reuters reported that Boulos has connections with various political factions in Lebanon, including Hezbollah ally Suleiman Frangieh and the anti-Hezbollah Lebanese Forces Party. Aron Lund, a fellow at the Century Foundation think tank, highlighted Boulos’s role in expanding Trump’s appeal to Arab American and Muslim voters during the campaign, positioning him to influence Middle East policy within the administration.
Interestingly, Boulos is not the only father-in-law of Trump’s daughter to be appointed to a key role in the administration. On the previous day, Trump announced Charles Kushner, father of Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner, as the U.S. ambassador to France.
