During a campaign rally in Novi, Michigan, Arab- and Muslim-American leaders came out in support of Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump. This endorsement is significant in a state with over 200,000 Muslim-American voters.

According to RealClearPolitics’ polling average, Trump currently holds a slight lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in Michigan, with 47.9% to 47.7%.

Speaking to the crowd at the rally, Trump expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from Muslim and Arab voters in Michigan.

The endorsements include prominent figures such as Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib, Dearborn Heights Mayor Bill Bazzi, and Imam Belal Alzuhairi.

One of the reasons cited for their support was Trump’s promise to end war in the Middle East and Ukraine. This commitment resonated with the leaders amidst the ongoing turmoil in the region.

Recent polls indicate a shift in support among Arab and Muslim Americans, traditionally Democratic voting blocs. Many are turning away from Harris and towards Trump due to concerns over the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Two polls conducted among Arab American and American Muslim voters show a split in support between Trump and Harris, with some even favoring third-party candidate Jill Stein. In Michigan, support for Stein is at 40%, Trump at 18%, and Harris at just 12%.

It is clear that Arab and Muslim voters in Michigan are reevaluating their political allegiances, with Trump gaining traction among these communities.
