President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently announced a successful treaty between Rwanda and Congo, marking a significant step towards peace in the region. This development comes as Pakistan has formally nominated President Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.

In a statement on Truth Social, President Trump expressed his happiness over the treaty between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Rwanda, emphasizing the violent history of the conflict and the long-lasting impact it has had on the region. Representatives from both countries are set to sign the documents in Washington on Monday.

President Trump also addressed his chances of winning the Nobel Peace Prize, acknowledging that regardless of his efforts in various peace initiatives around the world, he believes he won’t receive the prestigious award. He highlighted his involvement in mediating conflicts between India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, Egypt and Ethiopia, as well as his role in the Abraham Accords in the Middle East.

Despite Trump’s claims, India refuted his statement about stopping the war between Pakistan and India, clarifying that talks for ceasing military action were initiated by Pakistan and India through existing military channels.

The Government of Pakistan formally recommended President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his diplomatic intervention and leadership during the India-Pakistan crisis. Pakistani leaders commended Trump for his strategic foresight and statesmanship in securing a ceasefire between the two nations.

Overall, the nomination process for the Nobel Peace Prize is confidential, with entries due by January 31 for the 2026 nomination. The recognition of President Trump’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in various regions remains a topic of discussion and admiration among global leaders.
