President Trump Vows to Address “Russian Threat” in Greenland

President Donald Trump recently took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to express his concerns about the “Russian threat” in Greenland. He criticized Denmark for not being able to address this issue despite NATO’s warnings over the past two decades.

Denmark and Greenland have firmly stated that Greenland is not for sale and does not wish to become part of the United States, despite Trump’s repeated interest in acquiring the territory. Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on European allies until the U.S. is allowed to purchase Greenland.

Trump argues that Greenland’s strategic importance, particularly in light of China and Russia’s activities in the region, necessitates U.S. ownership. However, Danish and European officials have emphasized that Greenland is already protected under NATO’s security agreement.

The White House and Denmark’s foreign affairs ministry have not yet responded to Trump’s latest comments on Greenland. The situation continues to generate controversy and debate both domestically and internationally.
