Trump Shares Fannie Mae Ad Using An AI-Generated Voice On Truth Social
SHARE

On Monday, President Donald Trump highlighted an advertisement for the revamped Fannie Mae, featuring audio reminiscent of his voice describing the organization as the “protector of the American Dream.”

This speech, however, was not his own but was generated by artificial intelligence with the administration’s consent, according to The Associated Press report earlier this year.

The advertisement, initially posted by Housing Director Bill Pulte on X in January, starts with a narrator proclaiming that Trump will “be remembered as the greatest housing president in history,” before transitioning to audio that sounds like Trump’s voice.

The ad’s voiceover asserts, “America was built one home at a time, I believe that because the American Dream was never just an idea. It was a front door, a set of keys, a place where families built their future,” accompanied by various clips of Trump.

It continues, “For generations, homeownership meant security, independence and stability, but today, that dream feels out of reach for too many Americans. Not because they’ve stopped working hard, but because the system stopped working for them.”

The video concludes with footage of Trump pumping his fist and exiting through a doorway, as text describing Fannie Mae as one of “The Great American Mortgage Corporations” appears on the screen.

The advertisement, as viewed in a post on Trump’s X feed, includes a disclaimer at the bottom stating: “The audio of President Trump is AI generated and used with permission.”

However, this disclaimer was missing from the video when Trump posted it to his 13 million followers on the Truth Social platform.

It remains unclear which company or AI tool created Trump’s audio and whether the administration has authorized the use of his voice in promotional content beyond this government-sponsored mortgage giant advertisement.

JS has contacted the White House for a response.

A disclaimer noting the use of artificial intelligence-generated audio appears at the bottom of the clip shared to President Donald Trump’s X account. It did not appear on the clip shared to his Truth Social platform.

Trump, who released several AI-related posts on his platform over the weekend, has previously praised AI, stating in 2024 that an AI tool had once rewritten his speech with such elegance that he intended to deliver it one day.

When asked about Trump’s AI-related posts last month, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle described Trump’s platform as the “most powerful and popular” globally, attributing this to its representation of President Trump’s genuine voice.
