Trump Turns On Pete Hegseth As His Administration Is Collapsing

Over the past decade, a consistent pattern has emerged in Donald Trump’s political approach: when challenges arise, others are often held accountable.

This behavior is fundamental to understanding Trump.

Trump independently initiated a conflict with Iran. He bypassed Congress and did not seek to establish an international alliance. Instead, he collaborated with Bibi to ignite another conflict in the Middle East.

The president’s mishandling of the Iran war has left him embarrassed.

Iran has struck an agreement with Oman to oversee the Strait of Hormuz, excluding the United States from the talks.

In the wake of this poor decision-making, Trump is seeking someone to hold accountable, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has become the latest target.

The Washington Post reported:

Last week at Camp David, President Donald Trump’s growing frustration over the Iran conflict reached a boiling point. He demanded explanations from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about why he had been misinformed regarding severe munitions shortages that could restrict military actions against Iran, according to two individuals familiar with the incident told The Washington Post.

The discussion occurred on the sidelines of a Cabinet meeting at Camp David on Friday, where Trump expressed his anger to Hegseth, stating that he believed the munitions issue “had been resolved,” according to both individuals familiar with the interaction, who, like others, requested anonymity due to fear of retribution.

Hegseth shifted the blame onto his deputy, illustrating the blame-shifting culture within the Trump administration, where accountability is often deflected.

Trump was so displeased with the coverage of this incident that he felt compelled to defend Hegseth, a move often seen as a negative omen within his administration.
