President Donald Trump offered a somewhat positive take on dictators after his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Despite insisting that the reviews were good and not what he normally hears from the media, Trump acknowledged the necessity of dictators in certain situations.
“Usually they say, ‘He’s a horrible dictator-type person,’ I’m a dictator,” Trump stated. “But sometimes you need a dictator. But they didn’t say that in this case.”
Trump has previously denied claims of being a king, emphasizing that he works hard to make the country great and is not a monarch. However, in response to critics warning about his potential dictatorship if re-elected in 2023, Trump quipped that he would only be a dictator on day one.
Despite his controversial comments, Trump’s remarks about the role of dictators have raised concerns among critics.
