Reports indicate that the Trump administration is unable to initiate a broader offensive against Iran due to depleted military stockpiles.
Adm. Brad Cooper, the top U.S. military commander in the Middle East, has advised halting the bombing campaign around the Strait of Hormuz as it has reached its maximum effectiveness, according to two informed sources.

The sources further revealed that Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, privately warned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Trump that a lack of air defense interceptors might impede the protection of U.S. forces and allies in the area.
The conflict with Iran, which Trump expected to conclude quickly, is now in its fifth month with no resolution in sight.
Trump underestimated Iran’s response, resulting in a prolonged conflict from which he cannot easily exit.
Mike Waltz, Trump’s UN Ambassador, has identified those responsible for the military’s shortage of weapons.
Regarding the depleted stockpile, Waltz commented:
We need to consider that many stockpiles were depleted not only due to our support to Ukraine over the past four or five years. Secretary Hegseth inherited a depleted situation from Ukraine as well as from ongoing conflicts with the Houthis during the Biden administration and the depleted military under Biden.
They are now focusing on new types of munitions, more affordable munitions, new technologies, and rebuilding our military with new defense budgets.
But wasn’t the U.S. military supposed to have been rebuilt by Trump?
Waltz contradicted himself in his next statement.
