Conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson delivered a moving speech at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service, held at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. Addressing the thousands of attendees, Carlson referred to the late activist as a “Christian evangelist” during his eulogy.

However, a specific part of Carlson’s speech sparked controversy on social media, where he appeared to draw parallels between Kirk’s assassination and the crucifixion of Jesus. Carlson stated, “Ultimately he was a Christian evangelist. And it actually reminds me of my favorite story ever. So, it’s about 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem and Jesus shows up and he starts talking about the people in power and he starts doing the worst thing that you can do, which is telling the truth about people and they hate it. They hate it and they become obsessed with making him stop.”

He continued, “And there’s always one guy with the bright idea. And I could just hear him say, ‘I’ve got an idea. Why don’t we just kill him? That’ll shut him up. That’ll fix the problem.’ It doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t work that way. Everything is inverted and the Beatitudes tell it.”

Further in his eulogy, Tucker Carlson praised Charlie Kirk for being “truly fearless” until his last breath and for having “no hate” in his heart. He also emphasized that Jesus exemplified how any attempt to extinguish the light only makes it burn brighter.

Tucker Carlson had shared the stage with Charlie Kirk on multiple occasions and recently appeared on “The Charlie Kirk Show” following the tragic death of TPUSA’s founder.

In the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s untimely passing, Tucker Carlson advocated for free speech in his September 16 episode of “The Tucker Carlson Show.” He discussed the renewed debate surrounding free speech, particularly in response to Attorney General Pam Bondi’s remarks on hate speech laws. Carlson emphasized the importance of distinguishing between free speech and hate speech, expressing concern that Kirk’s death could be used to push for restrictive legislation.

Charlie Kirk was tragically shot and killed during a debate event in Utah on September 10. His memorial service on September 21 saw prominent conservative figures delivering heartfelt eulogies, with President Donald Trump hailing Kirk as an “American hero.” Erika Kirk, the wife of TPUSA’s late founder, delivered a poignant speech forgiving her husband’s killer, echoing Charlie Kirk’s capacity for forgiveness.

The legacy of Charlie Kirk continues to inspire many, with his commitment to free speech and fearless advocacy leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him. The memorial service served as a poignant reminder of the values Kirk stood for and the importance of upholding those principles in the face of adversity.
