The potential spinoff series “NOLA King,” a follow-up to the popular show “Tulsa King,” is undergoing a change in showrunners. According to exclusive sources from Variety, Dave Erickson is no longer attached to lead “NOLA King” due to a scheduling conflict. Paramount+ is actively searching for a new showrunner to take over the high-priority series.

Representatives from Paramount have not yet provided a comment on the situation. “NOLA King” was first announced to be in development at Paramount+ in June. The series will feature Jackson, who will make guest appearances in multiple episodes of “Tulsa King” before transitioning to his own show. Jackson’s character details are being kept under wraps, but he is set to play a prominent gangster in New Orleans, similar to Sylvester Stallone’s character in “Tulsa King.”

Erickson, who is also the showrunner for “Tulsa King” Season 3 and “Mayor of Kingstown” starring Jeremy Renner, remains under his overall deal with MTV Entertainment Studios. He took over as showrunner for “Tulsa King” Season 3 after the show ran without a traditional showrunner in its second season. Erickson joined “Mayor of Kingstown” during its second season as well.

Both “Tulsa King” Season 3 and “Mayor of Kingstown” Season 4 have completed filming, with no premiere dates announced yet. The shows are expected to air later this year. “NOLA King,” executive produced by Taylor Sheridan and David C. Glasser of 101 Studios, will be produced by MTV Entertainment Studios.

Stay tuned for more updates on the casting and production of “NOLA King” as the search for a new showrunner continues.
