Alan Ritchson, known for his role in "Reacher," recently opened up about his childhood classmate, Matt Gaetz, in a candid interview with GQ. The actor did not hold back in expressing his strong dislike for Gaetz, referring to him as a "motherf*****" and labeling him as his adversary.
Ritchson revealed that he and Gaetz crossed paths in Niceville, Florida, where their families settled when they were kids. Despite their shared past, Ritchson made it clear that he and Gaetz were far from friends. In fact, he went on to criticize Gaetz’s character, stating, "It’s shocking to me that the panhandle of Florida continues to vote for somebody—knowing everything we know about him and the promises that he’s made behind closed doors about pardoning certain criminals—he’s just not a good dude!"
The actor even contemplated entering politics to potentially challenge Gaetz but admitted that he didn’t think he possessed the necessary duplicity to succeed in such a field. Throughout the interview, Ritchson’s disdain for Gaetz was palpable, overshadowing discussions on other topics like drug usage, a suicide attempt, his television career, and fatherhood.
Gaetz, a former Congressman who resigned last year, faced numerous controversies during his time in office, including allegations of engaging in sexual activities with a minor. These troubling accusations led to his withdrawal from consideration for the position of Attorney General under President Donald Trump.
Given Ritchson’s strong words and evident animosity towards Gaetz, it seems like the two former classmates are far from reconciling. Whether Gaetz should heed Ritchson’s warning to steer clear or face the consequences remains to be seen. One thing is for sure – the tension between these two individuals is real and shows no signs of dissipating anytime soon.
